Since gun laws are regulated on a state level, gun laws vary from one state to the next. In Texas, a new law (HB 1927) took effect on September 1st, 2021. Now, people who qualify under the law can carry a handgun in a public place in Texas without a license to carry (LTC). Texans can still apply for an LTC since it may carry additional benefits.
In order to protect ourselves and our community, we must continue to protect what protects us. Guns in the wrong hands are always a problem. Although, guns in no HANDS are a BIGGER problem.
“The constitutional right to bear arms in public for self-defense is not a second-class right,” Justice Clarence Thomas wrote for the majority in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen (No. 20-843). “We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need.”
